Newbie autohomes elevating roof gas struts

Post by oscarvandriel »

Hello.
Does anybody know how strong the gas struts should be on my t25 autohomes kamper
Mine are all weak and need new ones.
Problem is finding them, so I need to know some things like gas struts newton, or total weight of the roof, or just a number on the struts .
Hope anybody can help. I'm stuck with the roof down and cannot continue my work

Thanks
Oscar

Hello Oscar
I will have a look for you. I have a 1991 autohomes kamper. The roof is very heavy and if one strut goes, then the other three will not hold it, and I cannot even lift it. I bought 4 new struts a couple of years ago - will get the details for you tomorrow and post...cheers Siegfried

These guys might be able to help you out; there website is not the best but maybe worth a ring. They replaced the catches on my pop top 6 years ago and they are still there!

They are based in darkest Dorset.

I used autovans to replace my struts and had a new pop up roof fitted. Would recommend them
