1980 Devon PopTop project thread
Enter stage right Nolan the T25. She is a rusty, damp non runner but she is beautiful. ish.
So 1980 1900 Aircooled Flat 4 Petrol motor. Have some images...

The Good...
Well the new engine has only done 36k.
The interior is in fairly good nick with the cupboards being rot free and nicely designed.
The Pop top is waterproof, freak storm today whilst showing the mother in law!
She steers and the brakes work, ish. Rebuild required but functional.
Nice wheels and 4 good tyres.
The Bad
The drivers door resembles swiss cheese. And the drivers step is worse!
The window seals are almost all perished.
The wheel-arches need work.
Doesn't start, but pretty sure this is because of a poor earth on the starter motor.
The Plan:
Well once running she is going for an MOT. For £45 they will basically let me know all the big issues regarding safety. Its a good starting point.
Rebuild brakes.
Weld exterior panels
Recover the interior
Paint interior
Refinish cabinets
Attack Europe. Planning Norway and Germany for next year.

So the new interior design... Gonna be homemade using 1/2 inch box iron and thin ply dividers with off the shelf doors. Here is the Sketchup plan

Good Luck, looks like an interesting project.
I particularly like the way the previous owner has meticulously blended in the filler on the door and wheel arch!!

Like it and good luck! Can see one problem with your interior design (To me anyway) Is the fact there is no access from the cab to the rear, meaning in and out of front doors and through the slider am sure after time this will seriously pee you off?

Having a double front seat for the child to ride with us so loosing that ability anyway. Might as well make more cupboard space.
