Attaching roofbox to poptop (side opening devon moonraker)

Post by discipleofsketch »

I'm thinking of mounting a roof box on my Devon Moonraker, just wondering if anyone has any advice on the best way to go about it? I'm open to ideas as to whether it could be attached directly via some kind of mount, or whether I mount some bars on there.

I haven't bought a box yet, but was thinking it would probably be a long narrow one so I could potentially mount a kayak down the other side. I think I'm talking myself into bars as I type this - so any suggestions for bars that I could bolt onto my pop top, and am I likely to rip the pop top off its hinges once I've added all that extra drag?

Just for the sake of helping other people wondering about this - several possible solutions exist in this thread:-

I'll post my finding here if/ when I go ahead with it :)

Just don't forget to make sure it's properly latched before you open the roof...
