Roof springs

Post by johnfevs »

Where can I get a new set of springs for my pop up roof. The roof is a Holdsworth Villa 1 that lifts straight up. The only ones just kampers sell are for a Devon roof, would these be the same ?? Any help would be great gul.

Cheers

They are definately springs. They sit inside the lifting poles and expand when the roof is lifted and contract when you pull it back down.

I stripped the poles down tonight to get at the springs and they look OK. So I added a packer into each pole to compress the springs further. This seems to have done the trick and I think this will be as good as it gets as the poles are extended as far as they will go. I have also added some jubilee clips to each section so when the roof is up I can lock the poles into position and stop them from slipping down.

Saved me a few quid if nothing else.
