Pop up roof

Post by Gnasher67 »

Hi
Has anyone had a problem with their pop up roof ??
Put mine up the other day to give it an airing and upon shutting it down found that one hinge had pulled out of the
fibre glass and the middle hinge had completely pulled out of the roof due to lots of rust leaving me with a big
hole and a roof that's now strapped down on a ratchet strap !!!!
Anyone else had this problem ? and if yes is it likely to be a huge job to fix ???

Cheers
Gnasher :ok

If the fibre glass is stillok then just drill and put bugger rivets in. The metal needs to have the rust cut out and because you do not see it then you could plate it. Weld or rivet, would not really matter. just make sure the rot is gone. :D

You will. Remove the canvas at the bottom and save the strip as the screws are awkward to get out of the top if they are original. The use of an angle battery drill is useful. :ok
