How much would you pay for.......

Post by lennsuey »

Hi

Can anyone advise me as to what I should expect to pay for a set of vinyl seat covers to be made for my van?

It would be for two front cab seats, and a 3/4 rock and roll style bed (autosleeper conversion)

Many thanks people :-)

Really!!? I've been quoted £700 for 2 cab seats and the three bits that make up the rear bed!
Am I being ripped off? :(

That's a good point. They will take off old covers which are original, and reupholster so more work involved I guess.
Planning on vinyl covers with coloured stitching and piping. Should look the bizz though!

We are in the south east too where everything seems to be a bit more expensive!

Covers should be relatively cheap but re-upholstering is a completely different proposition.
Why Vinyl when you can have leather.
Give Kevtherev a pm, he had his done several years ago but they are just beautiful, cream and brown with logo's and piping along all the seams, very nice indeed.
And he will be able to comment on price, I know there is an awful lot of work involved if done well.

To have 2 front seats and the 3 parts of a RnR bed reupholstered in your choice of fabric, new foam, piped etc wouldn't be far out. I've just had 3 new bed cushions with removable covers and a bog box cushion cover done for ours.

Make sure you shop around ..... I was originally quoted £750 for a full size rock n roll bed and my two front seats to be reupholstered inc the PVC material and I managed to get it all done for £360 elsewhere. It's all being done tomorrow actually - very excited now!!!

To get the entire interior done on my rusty westfalia cost me £1100 cash.

I'm quite glad the misses talked me out of a Transformers Autobot symbol in the head rest and have a trusty VW log instead...

Well we went for Vinyl covers in the end, as we have young kids and it's far more practical than leather (which would be wrecked!)

£725 for the completed job, for the south east of England that seems about right after shopping around!

What do we think?
