Ok, my van already had an Eber in the original westy position. I wanted to use the original heater outlet so I didn't have to cut any holes in the kick board.
I mounted the rheostat in the same place as the same place as the original Eber control (near the rear ashtray)
I cut off and re-used the original eber 12v connector, the Webasto was mounted at 90 degrees in the eber box once I'd blocked the holes where the old heater used to screw to it, then I cut down one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Heater-mounti ... 41636e8b65" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to mount the webasto and to fill the hole where the original rubber seal was that goes around the air intake fuel pie and exhaust.
the webasto uses smaller diameter ducting for the cabin air intake and hot air outlet so i ran these inside the old eber ducting along with the wiring loom from the heater not forgetting to seal the gap between the two on the hot air outlet side to stop hot air going back down the gap between the ductings and heating the exterior mounting box up instead of the van!
I used the same fuel line take off point as the eber pump but as the fuel inlet is a bit lower on the webasto I had to mount the pump a tad lower so the fuel pipe is always running up hill.
I used the old eber combustion air intake silencer in its original position along with a bit of 22mm intake pipe to downsize the 24mm old Eber one. For the exhaust I used a new 90 degrees elbow to clear the chassis rail new flexi exhaust pipe and lastly a new exhaust silencer.
Tbh it would have been much less faff to just mount it under the seat and use one of the easily available off the shelf hot air outlets but the saddo in me  wanted to keep my van looking standard.
I will do some pics when I get my van back from the bodyshop if anybody wants them.

We've got a D2L on our westy but it's a bit crap and very sensitive to voltage drop on the leisure battery. How much of an improvement would one of these Webastos be over that - are they more forgiving over voltage drop etc?

picked up my petrol webasto airtop32 from OBG today, thinking about mounting it below rear seat and possibly putting a battery ( one from an electric wheelchair) to run it from, just wondering how to wire the battery to the LB under the passenger seat or is there a better way so I do not have a long run of wire, any idea's please

I would run a separate split charge for that scenario as the leisure and the wheelchair batteries would have differing capacities. Take the feed for the split charge from the alternator connection in the engine bay (on the starter on a petrol I believe) as it is a lot closer and you will not get voltage drop that short distance and use a voltage sensing relay. What Ah are the wheelchair batteries and are they deep cycle?

they are deep cycle and they vary in amps, will have a sort through what we have lying around at work, they are usually from 40 amps up to about 75amps but then they start getting big and not too much room under the seats so I reckon a 40 amp will do as it will only be running the webasto, the split charge relay I have at the moment is an intelligent type(probably the only thing in the van that is intelligent including me),would another of the same type be ok?,I bought mine from raw components.

2.6A at full heat will give you roughly 8 hours from a 40Ah battery - allowing for it to be taken down to 50% as it's a deep cycle, so I would go for a larger one if you can ( or stack 2 if you have the height) The more reserve the better - I have 110Ah for my VW and 220Ah for my Merc. The Raw Components one I have is OK.

Was this what we were on about? This one appears to be glass fibre and aluminium.

Anyone got any inputs what the better diesel heater would be in a T25 westy; the EBERSPACHER AIRTRONIC D2 or Webasto AT 2000 ST?

It seem to me that with Eber you get a bit more in the kit if you buy it new, ex. the digital control unit, etc..
