Eberspacher mounting locations

I'm interested to know where ebers have been fitted in t25s. I don't want to give up space under the rear seat so wondered where else they can be fitted. Cj from syncrospares once mentioned that the compact versions (eg b1lc) can be fitted under the dash. Has anyone done this? What about under the drivers seat? Any other ideas most welcome, thanks.

Westfalia chose to shove 'em underneath - towards the back of the sliding door, so the pipework could pop up under the rear seat - just the vents taking up a little bit of floor space.

Under the glovebox mounted horizontally through front bulkhead, but this is on the Aircooled vans and utilises the cavity in the front where the rad is on water cooled models for running the pipes.

Not sure if there is still room to do this on water cooled vans as I've never had one.

Cheers guys. I'm not keen on mounting underneath as I have a syncro and stuff gets covered in mud/ripped off. I will check with any syncro westy owners though to see if theirs are still outside...

Under the dash is what I'd like to be able to achieve but there is definitely more space on an aircooler - worth knowing though so I can have a look at one sometime.

Westy owners - are your ebers underneath the floor outside? Any issues about mud/water/getting ripped off etc?
Anyone heard of an eber being mounted under the dash? I'm sure CJ once said that the compact versions (eg B1LC) fit under there. Space is precious as you know, so I'd like to tuck it away in an otherwise useless (and ideally dry) location.

Mines in the original Westy position under the offside; think you would have to be unlucky or particularly 'gung ho' to give it a real knock as it is tucked up; it has been through a few water baths that do not seem to have impaired it. With the Westy gas tank slung lower on the nearside I do need to stop and thing about ruts and angles and the like though.

Dont think I would want the noise of mine inside the van when its operating, particularly when its heating up; even if I could find a suitable space for it.

Like you say there are more compact models out there.

Aren't the early ebers designed to go outside though? I have a D1LC and i don't think it would survive outside, mines under the rear seat. I have seen one fitted under the dash, but I don't know how well it would get heat to the back?

Rob, where have you put your fuel tank? Im going to fit a diesel heater to a mates petrol van so need to find a suitable place to fit a cheap jerry can....

When I considered fitting a heater that runs on a different fuel I was going to use a go kart fuel tank.

I remember reading somewhere (might of been Mr Hulley or Rob) that someone was making fuel tanks that can fit in the void behind the rear air vents (where the snorkel on a diesel goes).

That would be very cool too...

I placed it in front behind the dash connected to the blower system.
Its a D2l so not to big.
And it still possible to remove without removing the dash!

My idea was for a Syncro. The idea was for it to go under the front bash plate with the fill behind the front indicator.
