Post by D'Squared »

We have a Kidde alarm/detector like this one but with a digital readout.

Ian,
Is yours like this one?

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Kohlenmonoxid-CO ... 3a739727da

Or this one?

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Kidde-CO-Alarm-C ... 1e6d21f82c

Where do you mount them (high or low)?

Cheers

Our's is neither of those ... it's the same as I linked to but with a readout in the center.

Our's is mounted on the kick board below the rear seat.

I would mount one higher than the highest gas appliance as CO is lighter than air by a smidgen. Certainly not at nearly floor level - you will have succumbed to the fumes by the time it has warned you.

This is the type I purchased. You can read my product review on the same page (entitled "Essential bit of safety equipment.")

Does it have twin sensors? If not how does it cover CO and CO2, lpg etc at the same time?

Can't find one under the trade name of 'Discover' but I found this one for a bit more than a tenner. (Looks a bit like the other one though.)

But how does it sense CO which rises and CO2 which sinks - does it have two sensors so that one can be placed high for CO and one placed low for CO2/lpg etc?

How does it cover them both at the same time?

I just included CO2 along with lpg as it is heavier than air also.
I still cannot see any mention of two sensors in the ad. to cover the two different gases.
