No headlights! Please help!

Post by andyboy069 »

Right, here goes. The headlights were working fine until he other day I flashed a car to let go,then my main beam stuck on, even pushing it hard it wouldn't release. I eventually used a screwdriver to push in a piece of plastic to release it as it had come too far forward (hard to explain) anyway, once back in the headlight dipped position, I had no headlights, although main beam and the flash still work fine, as do sidelights.
Has anyone else ever had a similar problem or know what could be up?
Cheers guys

try the headlamp switch , the one you use to swap between main and dip.

look at the plug , one with the black/yellow and white wire.

not near a van at the mo , but from memory there are 3/4 wires , plug is behind flash stick

feed in and main/dip out , poss a live feed for flash- cross connect them to see if they work without switch

will try to look and confirm later

hi andy
got exactley the same prob, i turned my headlights on and my high beam came on
and wont turn off, i checked both my bulbs and the nearside one was burnt around the
3 prongs so i replaced that but still no joy, i checked all the fuses and all ok but there
was some sparking from the fuse box area and notice some of the wires were loose
so tightened them up and still nothing, also my inicators are on dimley.
my sidelights seem ok but when i indicate my spot lights flash like a police car.
ive already had one bus burnout so im gonna get an auto electrician on it but cant get it in until
next tuesday so im using my scooter for work and its freezing, ,,,,,,,,,,
