I recently replaced my front main bulbs for halogen type.
When I removed the nearside headlamp I found a wire stuffed into middle terminal but not connected at other end. It was about 10inches long.
Since then I have no main beam indication.
All the lights work OK so has anyone got any idea where I connect the wire to.
I'm reluctant to ground it.

Re: Main beam led
What colour or colours are on the wire?

Re: Main beam led
The wire was red but i wouldn't read anything into that as it was an obvious bodge onthe part of the fitter.
The way it was just stuffed into the spade connector with no solder suggests an amateur at work.
I.m thinking the the led is grounded and is looking fot a positive feed from the lamp when on full beam.

Re: Main beam led
The main Beam is fed via a fuse from one of the headlamps main beam conx. So the wire that you had stuffed into the Headlamp conx sounds like it is the one needed for the main beam indicator. (The main beam indicator is earthed at the dashboard and gets its 12v from the main beam filament).

Re: Main beam led
Thanks, so should I refit the wire to the main beam terminal and ground it or what?

Re: Main beam led
Just connect it to the main beam filament conx as it was before but do a better job of it. When you switch to main beam you will then be providing the 12V necessary to operate the LED. Do not ground that wire by connecting it to chassis otherwise you will blow the fuse or damage the loom.
