12v to 240v power invertor

Post by gypo »

I've got one of these kicking about that you plug into the ciggy lighter, what sort of power would a small LCD TV pull off the leisure battery using this? I'm thinking it must be a fair bit?

Look on the back of the tv - consumption should be marked on a plate. Then convert it to 12v draw.

I've got a small TV/DVD combo, that's 40w according to the back, so would draw about 4A on 12V.

How small an LCD TV are you talking. You might fine it'll run on 12v anyway.

Cheers all above for the replies.
BOXY I do have one that has a laptop type power pack in the lead so is basically 12v but only has a dvd built into it. I have another with freeview built into it but it is 240v. I will have to check the back of it to see how much it uses.
