Without HD, a lot of TV series would have been lost I'm sure. The advent of pin-sharp TV has rescued many things that were shot on 35mm and even The Prisoner, which now looks flawless and like it was shot yesterday, finally got the detailed restoration work it desperately needed. The demand for quality programmes has made even the cost of the work involved all worthwhile, whereas before, the cost was completely prohibitive.

For me though, THIS was LONG overdue....
