Yes, sorry not to be clear. Lower fuse rating is generally safer as components that it is protecting will heat up less in the event of a fault.
Blue crimps are typically used on 2.5mm2 cable. Rating depends on spec, but the best stuff is tri-rated which can handle 30A. Personally, I would use 4mm2 or 6mm2 for the 'link' between batteries (rated 41 and 53A respectively for tri-rated type), both of which you use yellow crimps on. I'm lucky in that I do industrial electrics for a living and have a pretty much endless supply of cable :wink: .
Still not sure if OP has solved charging problem.

Hi guys,
thanks for all the advice. I do LOVE this forum, so helpful :)
Ive seen the fuse holders with the moulded in wire but it appears it will be to short to run between the two batteries. Would I just get one and just connect it into the wires that are already there? Or just get something like this and connect the blue bits?? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Standard-Blad ... 2ed3ca347a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The moulded cable type always seem to have cable on the small side.
I prefer these below (hope link works). See how the connection is recessed? If a connection came apart, much less chance of anything grounding by accident.

I was pointing out that blue crimped connectors can take 'up to' 3mm2 wire....not that 3mm2 was the size he needs...rather informing the OP that because he has blue terminals fitted, that his wire must be 3mm2 or thinner (27.5 amps rating or lower)

No worries 8)

Martin, that's exactly how I read it, absolutely not trying to contradict anything you said (I've seen your posts and you know what you are about), just elaborating to try to help OP get sorted. Quiet morning in work so forums are keeping me going. cheers, bri
