Hi,
After some help here, my T25 campervan cut out yesterday, the coil which looks like the origional as I have never changed it in 7 years, had burnt out, it is blackened at the king lead.
Bought a new coil and king lead to get it away, it started fine although spluttered once on the approx 1 mile journey home.
I came out today to take it for a run and make sure it was ok and it won't start. I went back and doubled checked the new coil connections and they are fine. I don't know exactly how to test a coil supply, however one thing for sure is there is no voltage supply to it, top wire(s) (green), or bottom, black.
I would imagine the component supplying the coil voltage has also failed? Some clear instructions as to how to sort it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Paul.

Re: 1.9 DG 1991 Coil / Ignition Problem
Coil should have 12v on the black wire when ignition is on,
measure it with a multimeter but measure between the black and the body not to the neg coil connection
neg coil connection is controlled by the ignition amplifier module.

Re: 1.9 DG 1991 Coil / Ignition Problem
Thanks for coming back, I will double check to reassure myself however when I checked it last night by putting a voltage tester between the black wires as decribed, and the body, (not the other connection with the green cable), ignition on, there was no power.
So, what do I need to check next down the chain, as something has cut the supply.
Thanks
Paul

Fixed! One of the black feed wires had corroded at the spade connector, it was intermittant so was flicking a voltage on and off with any tiny movement.
New spade connectors fitted and hey presto, back to life.
Thanks again

Well done, i just wrote a long reply on how to hot wire it if there was no power and you beat me to posting
now go and look at all your earths and other engine wiring as there may be other connections and wires just waiting to let you down
