Temp Gauge

Post by NeilHarris »

Has anyone a photo of a JX engine showing the engine sensors please. Ive had a bit of work and the temp gauge is not operating now. Im assuming all others are ok and maybe the coolant sensor has gone, but noticed the wire colour to the coolant sensor (front end of block?) is not red/yellow as shown in the manual.
Could be that it never was, but a bit stuck now and not sure what all the other sensors are.
should i swap the wires around to match the manual or test each sensor?
What output do these sensors give- i'm assuming a change in resistance- but what do i expect off the coolant one - resistance when cold ? resistance when hot ?

The senders are the same [1000/1500ohms cold...50/100ohms hot ] I have the red/yellow wire on the sender in the middle of the head and the blue/white wire on the sender at the front of the head..
So you can check the wireing and the senders by swapping the wires over!
good luck.
I dont think, so I'm not[do I exist?]
