Amp turning on without stereo
Hello, as above really. The amp turns on as soon as battery is connected. I have the remote wire fitted which thought tells the amp to turn on. But even with stereo face off it powers up. So have to disconnect battery terminals when I put her to sleep. Any ideas? Marc

Re: Amp turning on without stereo
The remote lead sends a signal to an amp to turn it on when the stereo is on.
It sounds like you have the switched and live feeds swapped round. Usually one yellow and one red wire on the stereo loom, most of them are on bullet connectors so just swap them round.
The live sends a small amount of power constantly to the unit so it keeps the memory and the switch sends full power to turn it on with ignition. If they are the wrong way round you will always have the stereo turned in.
Hope that helps,
Adam.
