Might not be a bad idea, whilst the arches are off, to take a peek at your seat belt mounts for the dreaded rust. Both mine looked ok, until I took a small hammer to the n/s one and found it had actually cracked its base but the underseal was hiding it. It would have failed the MoT for sure so I made a new one up and welded it in. Much easier with the arch out of the way too.

Hope that helps :ok

Couldn't agree more. mine looked ok but one Sharp tug of the driverside seat belt and it pulled straight through the floor mounting!
New one welded on place now.

Just an update, van passed MOT 1st time in 3 yrs!
Still looking in a sorry state and I don't think I'll get to paint this year so going to concentrate on preparation.
Hopefully this weekend ill replace the front ns wheel bearing as there's a rumbling above 30mph.
Also need to tighten the water pump belt as it screeches, I need to do a sliding door repair as you can see outside from the rear seat.
I fitted some cheap Lidl seat covers to update the 80's style seats

I was thinking the same - they make a world of difference to the interior, I'd never have thought of looking in Lidl.

Great project - and great patience. Can't wait to see the final result.

The covers were £13.99 or there about. They're a bit boy racer but I don't think you can argue for under £15!

They're a bit of a pain to fit as they have elastic loops at the back/underneath and metal hooks to clip together. The headrest covers are a bit too small too but I fitted all in an hour. :ok

I've got to do the front, rear and passenger side, ran out of time and sunshine yesterday.
Weathers not looking too hopeful for the next few days either.
:(

I've got to tidy up the interior door panels , carpet/lino or laminate
The list is endless........
