Waxoyl (or similar) in Bristol
Hey all.
Does anyone know a good place to get the van waxoyld in Bristol or Gloucester?
I don't want to open up a Waxoyl vs 'other' treatment thread, but I'm unknowledgable and would consider other forms of treatment if someone had a garage to recommend.
Cheers
Bob

I got mine done by the only 'official' place in the UK and it's just north of London, about the same distance for you as it was me mate, but well worth the £500 for the piece of mind.........

Although you might want to sort out any corrosion first. Even waxoyl has its limits if theres hidden rot. You can do it yourself by the way.

Syncrospares in South Molton,Devon do this sort of thing for all T25s. Was talking to them about just this on Saturday. Bit of a trek down there, but they will drop-off and collect from Tiverton Parkway train station on Saturdays. They've just done loads of bodywork for me http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=76408

Yes, I think the official Waxoyl place is Enfield...
If you look here
http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... &p=7549307
you'll see why a thorough wash out or scrape, brush and vacuum might be best first. I think the Waxoyl centre washes out and hot-air dries first, all part of the service sir!
Question is, can Waxoyl or other treatments get under large flakes and scaley rust.
Horses for courses, of courses. With me, it would have made repairs a lot harder should I have Waxoyled first, sticky waxy stuff that it is... but we're not all me, thank goodness...

Re: Waxoyl (or similar) in Bristol
We use Dinitrol now.
Cost depends on the job, how much prep we have to do, how many cans we use etc.
Did one yesterday, 4 hours (£160) plus 5 cans (£9.75 per can/£48.75)
Van had to be washed off underneath and a fair bit of wheel arch cleaning, obviously the more cleaning you do first the cheaper the job.
We also used half a can of cavity wax inside the rear trailling arms and in any orifice we can get the nozzle into.
See the brickwerks faceboox page for a picture.

I think when we did Cruz's van, there was less prep work to do and we used a different brand of underseal hence the conflict in reported prices.
If it's clean and dry and it's a case of whipping the wheels off and just spraying, putting the spare back and the wheels back obviously it's a lot cheaper!
