help.... rear seat belts....

Post by Fisch »

The baby is back on the road having being stripped and relined.... Full width R&D installed from vw rusty Lee. Seat belts in.... now comes the problem.... apparently they are 2 metres long but when you sit in the seat they don't come far enough across to plug in.

The mounting for the roller is up on the rear pillar (by the vent) .... what have I done wrong?

Need belts in by next Saturday. ...

HELP!!

Thanks

Are they the correct belts?

If they work, and aren't long enough, I'd suggest not.

One I fitted came from brickwerks. Belt housing goes behind the panel nearer the floor, and the moveable triangular feeder bolts into the hole near the vent area.

Bolt holes were all there already. Check the wiki and compare your set up.

Thanks, will be measuring them today as I reckon they must be too short.

Will only take half an hour to fit new ones so may just get some more as time is running out.

Will let you know.

Sounds like a plan if you're short of time.

As it's a Sunday, why not go up your local scrapyard, and find a transit.

Apparently their belts are long enough.

Unfortunately my missus wanted new ones, but as long as you find a vehicle that doesn't look like is been in some horrendous accident and is just "old" then the belts should be just fine.

Good luck
