colour match after bodywork

Post by mariner »

Hi all

Bit of a novice and have finally found time (plucked up the courage!) to have a go at some of the rust on my van. It's a (off) white '82 2l hightop. A long shot, but can anyone suggest the best colour match I can expect to get from the paints in Halfords? :)

bear in mind the paint on your van is over 30 years old if its original,so probably gonna be hard to match it from Halfords.ive just put a full sill on my 84 kamper bought paint from jawels which is expensive £12 a tin but it is good stuff, and it is sort of close to original but the difference is noticeable.as long as ya van is solid I wouldn't worry bout it.

You're probably right. My neighbour who is helping/guiding me through and is pretty experienced with bodywork said "it's white John!". I guess any shade of white will look better than rust! Thanks for the reply.

Aye but you'd be amazed at even how many different types of white there are. Its just as hard to match as any colour.
