Bumper Refurb

Hello,

I have a late T25 camper van which is in fairly good condition however it is really let down by the bumpers, lower trim and also the grill(s), all of which have faded.

I do the typical car cleaning thing of using black refurber and other products and nothing really does it. A relative of mine suggested painting them, which is a possibility however if i used the wrong paint i can imagine that peeling off and it looking worse.

I see a few T25s like mine around and the bumbers look perfect with a lovely gloss finish. Any ideas from people who have been there and successfully cured this problem.

Have you tried the 'search' button, lots of posts on this.

Standard bumper end caps come up a treat with the judicious use of a hot air paint stripper gun....use it like a hair dryer and it brings out the oils and gloss from tired, dried out (greying!) caps.

.....unless your bumpers are not very smooth in first place....

Thank you for the replies, I had origionally used search but could'nt find anything, not to worry, I have now with the feedback provided.

Pictures look great, whether the truck paint or the more smooth plastic paint. As a personal choice I think I will go for the latter plastic paint option, but either way my van will be transformed, it's suprising how much faded plastic makes the whole van look tatty.

Hi,
Just done my bumpers, front one anyway.
Black Satin paint (oil based) from B&Q, about £5 and rollered on. My plastic bits usually get sprayed with Plastikote
