Carpet lining problems

Post by project25 »

This has probably been on here before, but I couldnt find it.
Why does my carpet lining always come unstuck. I cant remember the make of the lining, Ive used various makes of spray adhesives. Ive only ever tried fitting the stuff in the winter and by the hot weather it starts coming off. Does it expand in the heat? Usually first to come off is any ply lined areas, which have been sealed with adhesive first.

Hi, Thanks for replies, looks good stuff. I really hate having to go back on something that you think youve finished. Should get it right first time I guess.

If you have sealed them with PVA then some adhesives detach when warmed up as they dont like vinyl, make sure you get the spray adhesive that is also suitable for headlining material, ie vinyl, as some will state on the tin that they are not, even though they are sold under a high temp interior vehicle adhesive,
