Rattle can LT6A ESCORIAL GREEN
My local auto parts shop has once again confirmed to me that they are useless never will I darken their door again. Depressing really as i'm keen on supporting local businesses.
Had a tin made up and the shade is way off, knew at the time it was too light as had taken a left over tin of cellulose paint which was a spot on match. Was told they always seem lighter when they're first made up. Did not use machine to mix, was all done with scales
I need to find another supplier, any recommendations, chaps

Is it on the shelf sitting lonely and unloved, or does it have a purpose interested if its going begging.

Technically, aerosols are banned as post items although I imagine it still goes on.

Found a paint supplier in Ashford about 15miles away that seem up to the job, they need a couple of hours to sort tho.
Apparently they mix by weight/eye too. lets hope they do a better job.

Re: Rattle can LT6A ESCORIAL GREEN
never seen a car paint place that doesnt use scales ...its only diy stores that have a auto machine
works fine if you can get some bothered to help you out ...BUT your van might be faded /painted in a off shade anyway , so you need someone that will take a look and offer some test cards to determine what shade needs mixing , then if it still isnt right you can add more tinter to make it right
chances are they wont do that for a £10 aerosol as it can take ages to get it right..on the other hand the first supplier might have just been slap dash and messed it up

Re: Rattle can LT6A ESCORIAL GREEN
I had the same problem when buying some L90D from my local MotorWorld = far too "white". Shame because otherwise they are very good.
Aside = this was to put some paint under the rain gutter where Williams Auto Body of Chester had not put any after my very expensive re-spray (ok, and a bit of body repair as well)

Re: Rattle can LT6A ESCORIAL GREEN
I hate to say it, but if desperate, halfrauds do mixed up paint aerosols. Had a Timor Beige from them that was a pretty good match. The guy that served me wasn't a complete numpty either - weird.

Re: Rattle can LT6A ESCORIAL GREEN
Soz, can't see that anyone has mentioned a well-known german supplier of quality parts and service items for VW vehicles ? I find their L90D rattle cans particularly good ! Readily available last time I tried at the usual outlets..

Are you referring to the oft overlooked main dealers ?

Re: Rattle can LT6A ESCORIAL GREEN
Theres a guy on ebay does something like 2k by aerosol, short shelf life and probably toxic enough that it should be illegal- but you gotta love the shine.
