Help needed with window winder mechanism

Basically just trying to reattach the guide tube for the threaded rod to the back of the winder. Not sure how get it to slide back on as the tubing is v stiff. Any tips?

Is that plastic tube? If so warm it with a hot air paint stripper or hair drier

Thanks itchyfeet, that did the trick. Now just time to clean re grease and reassembly. Then the other side.
