Dash vents & centre panel
Hi, I would like to remove the centre panel on my dash, the one that sits directly behind the gearstick, but I'm not sure how it comes off without breaking anything. Also the same for the top vents on each side of the dash.
Any help much appreciated, many thanks.

Re: Dash vents & centre panel
The centre panel slides off, it "clips" in at the rear.
It's a right bugger to get off though.

Ok thanks. Which direction does it slide? Is it not connected to heating pipes? (mine has vents on each side of it).

It slides horizontally out toward the rear of the bus, in a straight line.

ok thanks, so just pulls off? I did try that but it was just bending at the edges so didn't want to force it.

It's a bugger.
From what I can remember you hook your fingers round the the rear edge and wiggle it foward.
Mine was stuck but came free, I leave it alone now as removing it makes me nervous.
There's only an earth point behind it (on mine).

Sounds like its going to be fun!
Any idea how to vents come out the dash? (the ones on the top at each end of the dash).

I have my dash out on the bench at the moment, I will have a look and take some photos for you. Can't remember how they come out from memory but a quick look and a photo might help.

That would be brilliant, thanks very much! I'm also going to be removing the forward facing vents too so any help on how to get those out would be great also!

Re: Dash vents & centre panel
So, I've had a look at the two side vents; after removing the lower pipe work the vent should slide forward about 4mm to allow the rearwards end to lift upwards. On the photos you can see the large forward hooks that hold the vent in place, the rear clips are much smaller. Hope this helps.
