Bodywork repair and repainting.... ongoing updates
Firstly, hello everyone.
I'm James and I have a orange and cream 1982 T25 'bus' which I am currently converting into a camper van, with the help of a mate of mine who used to work for south west classic volkswagens down in not so sunny devon!
I have owned the van for just over 2 years now and at first I found this forum to be very helpful (the first 6 months or so) and then unfortunately for the past 18 months I haven't had the time to do any more to the van, hence the delay in introducing myself
So here is how things have gone (or haven't) so far!
I started by removing all the rear seats (which I still have if anyone wants to buy them ) then I put leather saab 93 seats in the front with a swivel base on the passengers seat, sorted out a floor for the back, re trimmed the door cards and dash and put in an r&r bed from just kampers. I then had rather grand ideas of putting a Subaru engine in which I bought and that's as far as I've gotten with that (not sure if I'm going to still do this so if anyone wants to buy a Subaru engine let me know) I also changed the wheels firstly for mercedes alloys and now to some nice Porsche twists.
As you can see I have gotten my priorities right and done the important things first
So I have now started work on the van again...... With the intention of actually finishing it this time!
Photos and progress updates will follow, I've still got a lot to do namely, get it starting better, finish the bodywork, wrap it in vinyl, build the units/interior.
And that's as far as I've gotten
Looking forward to hearing any ideas anyone has about anything.
James

Hi bucketbabe
Funny you should say that, my girlfriend in her wisdom has booked my van, the one pictured above, in to show and shine at Devon dub fest! Lol
So if your there you will see it then, hopefully nearly 'finished' if that ever happens but I'm not holding my breath

Wotcha. Cheery looking van, nice shot - is it Dorset? Prefer paint myself but what did you have in mind for the wrap?

Hello to you both! Flyinghitop it's exmoor in Somerset/Devon.... So you're close! I'm thinking of wrapping it the same colours that it is now but with different finish, but I am as yet undecided, I'm also finding it hard finding cream vinyl.

Show and shine? You're braver than me!
If there were a category called 'mud and mess' I might enter.
Unlikely to make it all the way down there, but looking forward to seeing the pic with the winning rosette

Some photos of the latest progress, doesn't really seem like progress though!? :/
New steps tacked in!
Taken off the lovely purple window tints!
Found some more rust :/
Took out the windscreen.
Found what's caused the rusty floor!
And got the badges off without breaking them
