Big bumper end cap £125 on ebay!

Post by Sir Brixalot »

Still have got round to getting my snapped bumper fixed, with these sorts of prices you'd think there'd be decent copies available. Any ideas on the best way to join the bumper together. Mine snapped on the ns end near the end cap, the mount on the bumper also snapped off. Ralph gave me details of a repairer but I'd like to save a few shekels and do it myself

Should probably have put this in technical!

Took your advice-there was a mass of botched on fibreglass on the inside from a previous repair. Turns out that the bumper was only held on with one bolt so glad, I got on to it before it disappeared on a motorway. Did exactly as you said although I think I'm going to do some on the outside even if it doesn't look too pretty. sand and paint it to blend it in a bit

I put in loads, so much that the hardener dripped through the cracked bumper and glued it to the pavement! I had to chip it off. I used matting on the inside, thinking of using tissue for the outside, might look nicer. The previous owner cracked the front of the hightop and fixed it with gelcoat which is now looking grim. I'm thinking of using fibreglass tissue-is it a good idea?

You'd have to have a screw loose to pay that much money. At the end of the day its a bit of plastic, no matter how you look at it.
