Re: Mudflaps
I must be missing the subtle humour here
At £16 for all four, as opposed to £95 for the JK ones, it's very tempting to give them a try as per suggestion earlier on ^^^ =

I bought some of those cheapy flaps and have a pic of how they will hopefully look here - looks like they've put the price up as they were £6 odd for a pair when I got em:

Ghost, no you're not missing the subtelty, just a day or so too late. When I originally pasted the link, the price was £997.50 They've since amended it.

Re: Mudflaps
It's standard practice when sellers go on holiday or have temporary stock issues. They ammend the price on permanent listings to discourage purchases.CovKid wrote:Ghost, no you're not missing the subtelty, just a day or so too late. No idea why when theres a facility to 'set your account to being on holiday' and post a comment saying any purchases won't be posted until **/**/2014 for example

This one is better
The other side looks the same
Fitting took about an hour and a half. No real issues. Have to drill 2 holes for the front ones and of course treat the holes to a coat of paint (I used black Hammerite smooth.) The clips, especially for the front ones are a weird design, but they seem to work ok. The brackets that go to the chassis on the rear ones could do with being an inch longer as the way they are the bottoms of the mudflaps "toe in" a bit, even on max adjustment But thats JK products for you 7 out of ten I would say, but altogether though, quite happy with them

Re: Mudflaps
Contrast must be a bit high on my monitor - the only difference I can see is an extra VW logo.

Re: Mudflaps
I am using my Linux laptop at the mo. I would normally have tweaked those pics with L-View which is deas easy and fast to use (as you will know), but on the Linux box I have Gimp (very complicated) and "M-Paint" which looks ok, but I am still learning it. Lets have a go. Back in a mo (then must do some real work )

Re: Mudflaps
Grand job John
Do we throw up a lot of spray in wet weather you think? I noticed fords do but in heavy rain the other day I saw little being shot rearward. It may help protect those rear panels (battery voids etc) though. Thoughts?
Can't dismiss the vanity aspect ofcourse - no harm in that

Re: Mudflaps
Just posting back to say they do work..... as.... err.... "mudflaps"
Having driven around a very damp and muddy N.Wales this weekend, I can report that the usual areas behind the wheels are a LOT less dirty than previously, without them. A bit obvious I know, but with a JK product you never know
btw, there are some for sale at nearly half price on here = http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=129850" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
