ok I need one of these

JK are out of stock, I also need the rubber too.

Is there an easier way using a "U" channel from somewhere else or does any one else supply them. Looked at Schofields and VW Heritage etc but can only find it on JK site.

Cheers :ok

No, I looked on their website so I don't know when they're back in.

Hi,

I used a piece of square section tube with one cut one side off but you may be able to buy suitable sized u-section. Only downside is it does not have the seal retaining lip but this has not been an issue as the seal is a snug fit and is glued in anyway. Works perfectly and I doubt anyone would notice once painted etc.

Cheers Phil

Try ringing or emailing Schofields, they used to sell them even though it wasn't listed on their website. I had one off them approx. 2 years ago (just the "U" channel).

Obviously this was allowing water and dirt from the road to get into the sill and the sliding door skin. It needed to be fixed. To remedy this I purchased a length of channeling as near as I could to the same thickness of the channel on the sill that held the rubber seal in place. I then angle ground the sill flat up to the point where the sill channel had broken, primed it, pop riveted the channel to the sill, then painted it. A secondhand sliding door seal was obtained for £5 and I used just the lower part to replace the entire lower length of the seal. Job done!

There's one on eBay at the moment (blooming expensive in my eyes), guess who's selling it? JUST KAMPERS - go figure!

Last week, there was a listing for stainless u shaped channels at a tenner ( I think), that some chap thought were a good solution - wish I'd have bought one now.

i think all the pattern ones were just a U channel without the little return o the top part, have made them before but usually fit the sill with it included
