Thanks for this. I had thought about it however these valves are looking pretty new and are well within tolerances when tested for play in valve guides - I had this checked in an engineering shop so I'm feeling reasonably confident. There is also no mushrooming on the top of the stems. Hope this isn't famous last words and you've probably got me thinking again about it :!:

how is the rebuild going? any more progress?
