Well opening kitchen side window time, fit this bit first
Image
as they cant be easily added once the window is set in its channel. used the evil sticky sealant, as you can see, apply 2 beads of sealant as shown and as im rht handed fit the plaggy bit to the left this way when you offer up the centre channel you wont have to go poking about for the screw holes, you really dont want this gunge on your hands then finnish with the ending on the rht side, this finnishes the channel off nicely, there is a pin in the middle of the channel and a notch in the centre of the window part and this prevents fore and aft movement of the window,
had a good tidy up inside and applied anothe rthick coat of seam sealant to the nrear of ther new arch and blacked it, when dry tommorow will dynax the area.
work in progress with the rear spats and getting the curtains and fittings ready to refit .so nearly there,

Well its sunday so fun stuff to do
decided to reuse the old rear spats, but,, snapped studs, so there are several ways to repair these but ive gone for replicating the original , ,not so imprtant on the o/side as its a new undrilled arch but the n/side has the holes already, also if some time in the future they need changing then it would be nice to retain the original fixings.
Image
this is what we have. so dremel out and remove the crud and grind the stud flush with the threaded base,then1.5mm pilot hole to the centre
Image
Im going to make and use 2BA studs so drilling out incrimentaly
Image
now down it with a 2BA taper tap followed by a plug
Image
test fit of a 2BA screw
Image
cut the head off and recut the threads and screwed in with a drop of loctite studloc
Image
the topmost one was tricky as there is not much depth to it so gone down to 3BA  same scenario,
Image
teated the new holes and test fit
Image
Image
so when the dynax is dry will bolt it on then repeat on the other side.
did some curtain refitting and watching the gp.

yes good info Aiden,
I used 2BA as its about+ 0.5mm dia than the original so I was allowing for drill drift into the old bits of thread and this way I would be cutting into new metal most of the time.

Impressive work Mick!

Can I ask how you went about adding the rear number plate lock? Do you have a thread somewhere on it? Its a nice touch, and one I would like to do.

Engine hatch lock was an optional extra as well as a lockable catch for the doka.
They do come up now and then but be sure to get the little keeper that fits to the hatch as most times these are missing.
