Clonk when driving away

Post by Cableguy »

Had a quick search on here and a butchers on the wiki,
but couldn't see anything that might answer my query.
Just fitted gearbox back on and went for shakedown road test.
When I pull away, there is a distinctive clonk that you can feel when the van moves forward.
You don't hear a noise as such.
It's only when pulling away. I don't think it's driveshafts because I checked them and they were fine b4 box went back in.

Did have a mare with the nose mount. All 4 bolts were knackered. All cross threaded. Got some new bolts and they went in, But not that easily. It's properly attached, but next time the box comes off I'll have to think of a new method of attaching it. The captive nuts are fubared.

If the old bolts were crosse threaded the new ones may have gone in but are they actually biting onto anything??
