carb rebuild
Fot the last 2 years I've taken my 1994 1.9 auto T25 for it's mot and it's failed on emmissions. (too much unburnt fuel apparently) The guy charges me an hours labour to tweak the carb and get it to run inside the allowed tolerances but tells me that basically the carb is getting too old and worn. It's done 117000k. So.... can I get the carb rebuilt/repaired? Can i buy a new carb? Is he talking "Balls"?

Re: carb rebuild
tell us what carb is fitted then
I think you mechanic is talking bollox by the way
mine has done well over 150,000 miles and is not "worn out"
But should you still wish to buy one and it's a pierburg 2e3 I have one available to exchange
unburnt fuel or high HC readings points to air leaks and oil leaking into the combustion chamber... not just worn out carbs
1994 T25? that's a bit late.. they stopped in 1991

Re: carb rebuild
I like the gasure idea, alot. Been thinking about a conversion too as I'm getting 18 mpg around town what with the high-top and auto and suspect carb. Cheers

Re: carb rebuild
18 mpg is very good... ypu won't improve that much unless you LPG it

Re: carb rebuild
Have you lpg'ed urs kev? And what difference could I expect to get? I'd have to keep the van along time to re-coup the loss. I've heard figures that suggets it would pay for it'self in 8000k?

Re: carb rebuild
Check how long it would take for the LPG conversion to pay for itself here
