Having just got the van on the road..first time in a year..woohoo...i have noticed that as went up the local dual carriageway that the temp guage, instead of staying just over the red warning light had moved slightly towards the hotter end of the scale !
I was travelling at approx 65-70 mph, the day was fairly warm..this sunday just gone, and there was a slight incline on the road.
As soon as we levelled out the temp dropped again back to the red light postion. We then travelled over some horrendous inclines to gain access to Dartmoor (devon) some are 20% inclines...2nd or 3rd gear jobs...the same happened again but then returned to normal.
I do not seem to have lost water, oil level is fine and not milky and everything is fine with the world.
Reason im asking is that we are planning a 1800 mile journey through Scotland and dont want to break the old girl.
Many thanks for looking at my essay..
cheers neil

That needle movement is normal.
You have to drive accordingly.
Mine climbs to the last quarter if I hoof it uphill.
Just back off the throttle and enjoy the view.
