not fixed!

Post by tomsneade »

Hello campers, I have been having starting problems since i got my 1985 1600 diesel van (4 months) Itakes for ever to flash up in the mornings... anyway i took it to my local vw garage and they changed the glow plugs, fuel filter, stop solenoid and spill pipes and assured me that it would be fine....but its not fixed the problem, it still plays up first thing in the morning, but is fine once its warmed up.Are there Any mechanically minded people out there who could suggest what else might be the problem? Many thanks in advance for any help. Tom

Maybe a crack in the fuel line? Sucking air in??

Pretty common fault on diesels.

Good luck!

Are you using the cold start? Some motors get used to starting with it when cold.
