Accelerator cable

Post by Cherryboo »

Help,I think i need to tighten the accelerator cable on my T25but don't know how to do it. I was a new cable about a month ago and the guy who filled it made it longer at the time as he was having problems. Now i think its stretched.
Is it an easy job to do? Thanks x

Very simple.

Look into the engine bay with the engine running, get someone to pump the throttle a couple of times to see which bit moves, it's on the side of the carb/carbs. (RH one if I remember correctly.)

Switch off engine, undo the nut that pinches the cable, pull it taunt and re-tighten the pinch nut. Try not to move the lever arm that it is attached to, as you'll muck up the idle.

It can be done from the front too, but that's a little more tricky. :ok

Have a look at 'Accelerator Cable Replacement' on this forum from 28 May.
