Screen wash pump

Post by TravellingChick »

Went to clean windscreen on way to Stop Over and no screen wash. Assumed tank empty so went to top it up last night to find it nicely full with lovely screen wash therefore something electrical has gone wrong.

Windscreen wipers working fine but no water when I pull the wiper arm. Could be a pump or could be a fuse I guess.

Any advice on how to fix it? I heard the pump is in the screen wash tank but not 100% on that.

Cheers in advance.

i fitted a new pump to mine, is attached to the washer bottle, basically undo the bolts from under passenger footwell which hold the washer bottle in.

drop out of van then swap for new pump cant remember the model but it is written on it.

good luck!

Worth checking the pipes from the pump to the nossles as any crap blocks the nossles. :ok

could well be the switch on the stalk......
get a alternative power supply down to the pump, a known 12v and see is the pump works before you spend any money,
or a bulb with a couple of wires and connect to the pump wires and see if power is getting there....they commonly fail due to the switch being dirty ......

Had the same problem on mine.
Dropped tank onto a large piece of timber so every thing was still connected, disconnected the cable to th pump & put a 12v supply onto the pump using a starter pack & some small leads. Pump was good, so checked fuses & relays, all good too.
Removed plastic covers from steering column & found switch contact to be dirty, cleaned dirt off with some fine grit wet n dry, hey presto, clean windscreen!
Hope this helps.

Jocko,
I think Just Kampers sell them, but may need to be modified & quality may not be great. Also try Brickwerks & GSF.
