Gear change and dashboard woo’es.

Post by SplendiferousII »

When I select first gear my van can sometimes jump out. I now tend to hold the gear stick forward as I let the clutch out so it jumps into gear rather than out of gear. The gear stick feels nice and positive with no real slop. Is it a lubrication issue or should I be looking to buy a new part? It’s a four speed Diesel box (83).

Also my Glow plug light comes on sometimes when I use the windscreen wipers (flickers on off) and its gets worse sometimes when the lights are on. Any idea’s?

I agree - i've just solved a whole host of dash electrical issues (whilst wiring in an intermittent wiper relay on my ceramic fuse van) simply by cleaning the earth crowns and connectors.
