Fuel Pump

Post by rob356 »

I replaced the fuel pump on my 1.9 DG tonight and now it won't start.

Is there more than one type of pump for the 1.9? If not I guess i've got the fuel lines the wrong way round - it was getting dark, so I hope to get a better look tomorrow.

Sorted

Post by rob356 »

I came home from work early to take advantage of the light and have sorted the fuel pump.

I did get the pipes plumbed in the right direction but found that one of the hoses had split, so must have been squirting fuel over the engine rather than to the carb - so rule no. 239 is don;t play with petrol in bad light!

Engine seems to be smoother, quieter and faster (fast ish).
