Fuel pump pushrod removal?

How do you remove the mech fuel pump pushrod? 2.0 Cu lump

Pretty sure these engines have mech fuel pump as watercooled dg. Remove fuel lines (plug ends if necessary), remove two holding down nuts and washers, lift off pump, remove spacer block, pull out push rod. Reinstate in reverse order remembering to repack spacer with grease and you probably need to change both gaskets (block to spacer AND spacer to pump). Hope this helps.

Pump and everything else came off fine, pushrod did not its stuck fast, i can spin it around but it just wont come out, am i being a weakling?

*E D I T* I've got an Elec pump just wanted to block this one off

Never had that problem.. you could try rocking the vehicle in gear whilst pulling the push rod to see if it loosens up? Having said that, I have no experience of Aircooled so not sure if the pushrod "interferes" with anything else where the waist is formed on the rod itself.

It just pulls out. Give it a but of a tug, just some build up of gunge around the rod.
