Rubbish aftermarket heater valves!!

I wrongly assumed they were obsolete (unlike me) so I bought one from ebay for £7.99 and when it came it had CHINA stamped on it in big writing, which was disconcerting, and when it was fitted it snapped (picture)

Went with a genuine one from VW for £31+vat (then minus the trade discount ;) )

I always buy VW if they still do it. Even OEM marked stuff is still not always as good as the VW spec. And as you say with the trade discount not to bad a price.

Genuine one now on. works. and i can forget about it forever
