1.9 dg won't run

So here's the issue I changed the drivers side water jacket seal a couple weeks ago that was fine drove about 600 miles passenger side went so that's fine I'll do that side too so I did and now tha van won't run unless my foot is flat to the floor and it just ticks over and is only firing possibly on two cylinders.
When putting dolly back together I put the fuel pump pipes round the wrong way so the pump was sucking dry and wouldn't fire so today I put it back right but don't think there's enough fuel going through.
Also I decided against changing the seals on the bottom of the piston sleeve which I think was a mistake as I have some slightly emulsified oil in the passenger side rocker cover but not in the sump which I'm finding hard to understand why.
So any ideas would be most gratefully appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Steve

Assuming its rhd Possibly air leak on the vac servo pipe connection, seen it before on here, sucks in fresh air rather than air fuel on that side, see pic

Im a believer in changing lower liner seals but im told they often are good to be left.
Sombody on here had that problem and it was a cracked head butd run it a while properly , if that head is not firing it wont get hot and dry out

Thanks itchyfeet thinking about it now the clip didn't feel right when I put it back together this time it didn't really tighten up could I replace with a jubilee clip do you think? I will try the hose tomorrow after work.
I'm starting to have withdrawal symptoms from driving her it's been nearly two weeks now and now she's out of mot as well.

Yes jubilee clips should be fine.
Best test is to remove the pipe and plug the hole with your hand and a thick rubber glove or something, that proves 100% if its that or not, if nothing changes its not that

Had similar issues with mine, was multiple air leaks in the end. Took a price of washer jet tubing, stuck in me ear and went around the engine with other end. Inlet manifold, carb gaskets etc. Also replaced my coil as was old and over heating. After that seemed to do the trick. Gaskets cheap enough to.

Ok you just removed head 3&4 so did you set the tappet preload? Valves may not be opening if not
also possible to get the pushrod on the edge of the lifter by mistake, you can set the preload but when you crank it pops into the lifter then there is a gap so valve wont open

deffo got 3&4 spark leads on right?
pull the plugs if they are dry its no fuel, if wet the leads are suspect

if you have a compression guage great, test it it will tell you if those cylinders/valves are working

No I didn't set the tappet preload I just unbolted the lifters and bolted back on same as what I did with the over side and that side worked lovely.

Well it will probably be close but you should reset when the head comes off
id be doing it both side and checking compression if you dont have a guage get one, cheap enough and a must have tool for people like you prepared to diy :ok
Preload adjustment is in haynes

Will keep posted

So compression test done and no compression in 3&4 really confused now only thing I can think of doing is taking head off and having it crack tested. Just don't know what to do for the best....

No compression 3 ans 4 possibly means valves are not closing or not opening
have you backed off the preload screws and reset preload?

No not yet bit difficult to find instructions on how too. Especially whilst my two children are running around my ankles asking what's this what you doing and why? So I gave up but gonna go back to it when the wife is home shortly.

Does it matter what way the push rods go back in?
