1.6 diesel snorkel from airfilter

Post by sternal »

Hi

In this thread http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=133031" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. A snorkel is mentioned.

I was having a look today and I'm guessing left hand side behind vent and it run down and connects to the air filter housing via a box of some sort???? Apart from mine doesn't !

Obviously engine needs air to work but since mine looks like it's not been connected for years and some of the hosing has perished is there any need to replace ??? What will I gain ??? Runs fine.... Or seems to

Can parts still be purchased ??

Thanks in advance :ok

Please excuse my ignorance, but why are they worth fitting?
Is it just for syncros going through water dips?

It's coming off the air filter not the exhaust pipe !

Helps channel cold, dense air to the air filter, and apparently reduces noise. I've put it on my never ending list of improvements :)

The snorkel/noise discussion is happening on the 'in defence if the 1.6D engine'.
