radiator leak picture inside

Post by cubensis »

Well, I have just found the leak I've been looking for on the water system.

It appears the radiator has a hole in it in the corner.

Would anyone recommend the radweld stuff or shall I steer clear?

While I'm having the radiator replaced is it worth replacing the radiator fan too? Ours is very noisy!

And lastly do you agree this leak is coming from a radiator hole?

That radiator is very nasty ,good job you are replacing it, as for the fan they are rather noisy in the first place. If it works and your radiator is easy to get at (unlike mine which has a gas tank in the way) I would refit the fan as long as you know it works (perhaps oil the bearings). This can be replaced easily should the need arise. Unless you are feeling flush in which case fit a new one and new front to back pipes also!!!

Thanks for the replies, didn't realise it was a minger!

Our fan is extremely noisy, always has been, I think we'll replace both, the fan is about £60 so may as well be done at the same time rather than paying two lots of labour.

Cheers!

P.s the fuel hose under the arches has perished also, will 5mm be okay or is that to tight?
