MOT Failure

Post by boab »

Hi
can anyone give me an idea what is required for parts, as sites show different wording and prices vary from £30 - £140.This is what it failed on:

1: O/S Inner and Outer Sill ( JK sell outer for 39.90!! but Heritage shows 134.00 !! ) do you need side panel as well as i take it this will be cut to get into the rest of the work.

2: rear O/S and N/S Suspension Arm corroded and weakened

Other small things which can be sorted easy by Brother in Law.

Sorry but useless at this type of stuff.

1 inner and outer sill, the price from heritage would be for an inner sill, the price from jk is just the outer skin. If it's a non slider side then you can use a sill/side panel combo panel, although it's nicer if possible to just use an outer sill panel, but it is rust dependant. Be prepared to also need rear suspension mount, and fabricate b and c post lowers at least.

2 trailing arms will have to be good used items as they are not available anymore.

Thanks Jim, it is the non slider side, didn`t know about the b and c post so thanks for that, trailing arms will be the problem I think.

why the !!!!! with ref the £39.90 ??
take some picks of the areas concerned as this is easier than guessing.
inner sill ,nla schofields make a pattern inner but i have not yes had the pleasure of fitting same as i have a few genuine ones left.
again pickies please.
c & b post inners you have to make and they are important,
outer B is available and not bad quality.
