Hi all, it seems that i need some shims thicker than normally available, 4.4, 4.3 4.7 for example. I am guessing that my non-standard cylinder head has suffered some alteration during its 're-con' process.
Does anyone know where I could get such larger shims?

I'm off for the weekend (Dubs at the Hall) but I can have a check when I get back.

Re: Over size valve shims
Thanks a lot for the offer of help but I have a confession to make, I really messed up the readings of my shim sizes despite buying a new micrometer!
After I spent five minutes on youtube watching a video entitled " using a metric micrometer" I suddenly no longer needed such thick shims, my slipshod reading were increasing all my readings ten fold!
This van has therefore taught me another new skill to add to mig welding, spraying, wiring etc etc. Its been quite a training course, couldn't manage without the worlds best workshop manual , youtube!

No worries mate...most of my students still get reading micrometers wrong even after several training sessions.
