Different. pre-85 and post-85. The later one (yours) costs more than the early one. If you look at GSF or Brickwerks, you'll see the difference.

And the brand was? Not much help unless you can specify who made the pump. GSF change makes fairly regularly. For instance, I gather they had a spate of chocolate wheel bearings but changed brand. However, the myth that all their bearings are carp seems to persist even 5 or more years later - hence the establishment of a good brand list on here. Also, a waterpump can wear out rapidly if the belt tension is wrong.

I have a DF engine and mine uses the earlier type of pump. Compare the part number on the pump you have with the number listed against coolant pumps on the Brickwerks site.

Dunno its long gone
My point was to buy quality
Up to you to research brands if you like but if you just walk into a motor factor and buy a pump without researching the brand you may end up doing it a year later
Or you pay more and buy from a company who do the research for you and won't sell you poor quality

The Binatone and Ronco radiator fans - might be best to avoid those :rofl

Or a Tesco clutch anyone?

Actually, the question of the week at work is:

"Would you trust a condom from the pound shop?"

Its amazing just how fast you get a loud NO! :D

The trouble with the pound shop is that to keep everything a pound they have to make the product smaller or thinner every year :rofl

I'd be expecting a multi pack at that price!
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?
