Water coining from the rubber seals
I have water coming from the rubber seal between the heads and I just wordering do I get the heads skimmed or not it said in the wiki not to?

In my opinion the wiki is right
When you separate the head from the casting you'll see some pitting
Clean up the mating surfaces and skim the faces with JB weld or chemical metal, wipe the excess off leaving the pitts filled with the resin
fit the new seal
use the correct VW sealant (sparingly) and retighten the head down

i done fair few sets yea if pitting isn't too bad slap it together with some selant either side its just water jacket the compression sleeves are recessed into the heads, word of warning tho when heads are off best to reseal both lower compression sleeves into the block or they may of moved and once bk together could still leak into sump
