Some cars, like my Honda civic, come with a tyre repair kit and a 12v compressor instead of a spare tyre. (Not much good for a blow out) so possibly some cheap ones from a scrap yard?

The problem with that type of compressor it that they are low volume.

I bought a repair kit too.

It need to be high volume / flow rate and pressure for doing things like reseating tyres that have been dislodged off of rims etc.

I'm not keen to try the carb cleaner and match method.... :run

i have that in my civic, the 12v compressor only takes a minute to blow up the tyre from flat and the repair glue lasts long enough to get you to a garage. Not for blow outs tho. In 17years of driving ive only ever had one blow out. Thats what the aa membership is for.

A cheap compressor will do the job, no need spending lots of money. A £20 will do!

Ha ha, thanks Rich!

It inflates tyres very quickly! It inflated a completely flat 225/70/16 whilst on the van to 41 PSI in under 2:30mins. The gauge is pretty accurate whilst the compressor is running.

With some slight adjustment it looks like it will fit in the Peli case in the westy luggage rack.

I think at some stage I will add Anderson connectors.

Ah, ok. Not a bad idea, then I suppose you can put the connectors onto anything you might need to power, such as work lights etc?
